Reviews  By Concerned D from lubbock, TX Posted Aug 8, 2010 Local chiropractor agrees to plea bargain in sexual assault trial Published: Thursday, May 15, 2003 The felony trial of a Lubbock chiropractor ended Tuesday when prosecutors offered to reduce the charge to a Class C misdemeanor, the equivalent of a traffic ticket. Steven VanOsdale, 37, pleaded no contest to Class C assault and received a 90-day deferred sentence. If he successfully completes 90 days probation, no conviction will appear on his record. VanOsdale was charged with attempting to sexually assault a 17-year-old employee. After testimony started, prosecutors said they were concerned about inconsistencies in witness testimony and offered VanOsdale the lesser charge. Defense attorney Danny Hurley said his client accepted the deal to bring an end to the case. VanOsdale faces a pending charge of indecency with a child. He is accused of molesting a 16-year-old former employee. Prosecutors have not decided how to proceed with that case. VanOsdale denies the allegations and has pleaded not guilty.
